Coastal decking refresh
Weathered boards replaced with treated timber and safer handrails.

The problem
A holiday let's seafacing deck had soft board ends, corroded fixings with rust streaks, and a handrail that moved when leaned on — a guest-safety problem with the season approaching.
The solution
Failed boards and the worst joist section were replaced with treated timber, every fixing upgraded to stainless steel, the handrail posts re-secured, and the whole surface cleaned and treated for grip.
Outcome: Ready for summer bookings and sea air. Typical value band for this kind of work: £1.5k-£4k, always confirmed with a proper quote first.
Work completed
- Board and joist condition survey with photos for the owner
- Localised board and joist replacement in treated timber
- Full fixing upgrade to stainless steel
- Handrail re-securing and anti-slip surface treatment
